青皮软籽石榴是会理独具特色的地方优良品种，具有果大、皮薄、粒大、汁多、核软、味甜的特点，其籽粒“透明晶亮若珍珠、果味浓甜如蜂蜜”，风味浓郁、品质极佳，享有人间仙果的美誉。
